Its a simple straightforward question pertaining to posted material, how is it derailment?

Ok Gizmo, I have edited the 1st thread as it's largely irrelevant to the point of the car making this power on 30% correction yesterday:

The reason for editing the correction factors on the original JB post many months ago was because I posted that image on the American forums and got massive debate around the 30% correction. It was the same before and after but the yanks were fixated on the absolute number of 30% being too high. Even thought the stock car made 125wkw which is what they get.

so to avoid wasting my time on every post explaining that the 30% correction does nothing on our dynos I edited it out to avoid frustration arguing with idiots.

How reliable is this though? That seems like crazy power for that little 320i. How soon before the engine blows up? Im so curious?

I was told that the 328i is pushing the boundaries for this N20 motor? Was the person who told me this wrong?

And you still had to do that.

Then if the 30% correction does nothing to our dyno readouts then why alter it in the first place? Im just trying to get a better understanding of the dyno game and its practises, not fighting here.

Sherwin,

Can you tell us what is involved with stage 1, 2 and 3?

Stage 1 I assume just JB4, Stage 2 DP and Intake and stage 3 turbo and intercooler work?

Will the correction factor change the power to 75-80wkw more ? I personally don't think so. Just my 2 cents.

No he's talking about the correction factors being blocked out on the original 520i stock vs JB dyno graph. Was merely blocked out as I posted that image on overseas forums.

Ross from RBTS racing showed me the common SA practice of dyno cheating on his own dyno and how increasing the ambient correction ratio percentages increase the dyno readouts. He taught me to always look for those correction percentages in dyno printouts, his advice has held true through the years, just saying.

But then again "no two dynos are the same."

hey bud, Car is running sweet and really does not feel "stretched or ready to break", I use her daily. Should the engine explode, I'll holla and let you know

On road results "feel" better than what the dyno shows IMO.

thks again gents and Xcede n Xflow.

I must say those new 320i models are vastly superior to every other 320i brought out previously. Even in bigger engined bmws with more wkw than 125 you battle to compete, they simply walk away from you. With a few key groceries and a good tune they will be walking S54s with ease. I see this as the future engine for most bmw models. Sort of like what Merc were doing years ago with their 4cyl supercharged motor.
