F30 320i with steptronic

HI all,

I'm new to BMWs and I always wanted to own one. I'm currently looking at getting a F30 320i and this one comes with the Bluetooth connectivity / internet package and has a steptronic gearbox.

I'm in sales and drive a lot and fuel consumption is pretty important. I'm currently driving a Chev Cruze and get about 10km/L. Not to great, but that's probably due to me having a slightly heavy foot.

What I wold like to find out is how current owners of the 320i find their fuel consumption to be?

It's a big "investment" to buy a BMW and I would like to made sure about the real facts first.

Noticed another thread where a new 320i appears to be heavy on the juice, but apparently it gets better over time.

Your comments most welcome.

Cheers

If consumption is one of your concerns, why don't you consider the 320d instead?

Thank you for your reply.

I reckon it's because of the price difference between the petrol vs diesel. I will query this with BMW tomorrow. Not sure of they will be able to give me the same discount as the 320i on their floor.

You can look at some consumption stats on www.fuelly.com

There are not too many 320i on fuelly it seems. Both the 320i and 320d have similar quoted consumption. But the 320d would probably give you better consumption in the long term :dunno:

If fuel consumption is your priority then I would suggest the 320d. I would personally go for the 320i as it feels more lively - you aren't really going to feel much of a difference performance-wise I don't think. It's just the contrasting power delivery which separates the two.

Wow, you have great consumption there. if the 320i is 80% as efficient then it's still better than what I get now.

At this stage I'm hardly getting 600Km on my 60L tank on the Cruze.
