Hi guys,

My car is doing around 105k kms now.

At what mileage would you recommend I have this done?

ZF has quoted a reasonable R1500 all inclusive of oil and labour.

The oil from BMW is around R400/Litre and I would need to buy 2 Litres since the box takes 1.2 litres if I were to get it done privately so makes more sense to have ZF do it.

Thanks

For that price I'd have it done ASAP.

for my E90's ZF advised me that the oil should be changed atleast every 60 000Km and +/- every 45 000Km is the Transmission has software to keep the transmission running smooth and give you a longer life on the transmission, however if the adaptations are not too far gone then a service can still be done at a higher mileage.

I stand to be corrected though.

i recently done a service at ZF on my 335 (140 000Km's ) , and i can say that shifting has definetley improved.

Thanks bud.

Had it done today. My gearbox oil was quite clean at 105k kms. Will probably do the next one at 200k kms.

All in all great service from ZF Durban and highly recommend them
