I had a 2013 320d with xenon lights. It never gave me hassels. The facelift not much difference except few cosmetics and a bit more power and powerpack intercooler from the pre-Lci as standard. I have spoken to a few BMW mechanics and they prefer the pre-Lci engine. You can just load a tune on a pre-lci 320d and you will have more power. In the end it comes down to how much money you want to spend and whats the best you can get for your money.
I now have an 2016 330d LCI with LED headlights. I can tell you from experience that the LED head lights beats the Xenon.
at night. And the LCI some seems to be better spec with options again. In the end its budget mileage and extras that will be the deciding factor. Personally I dont buy a BMW over 100 000km because I change the oil in that ZF box. So I will buy a BMW with max 80 000km. Thats just my opinion
