F30 320d: LCI vs pre-LCI?

I had a 2013 320d with xenon lights. It never gave me hassels. The facelift not much difference except few cosmetics and a bit more power and powerpack intercooler from the pre-Lci as standard. I have spoken to a few BMW mechanics and they prefer the pre-Lci engine. You can just load a tune on a pre-lci 320d and you will have more power. In the end it comes down to how much money you want to spend and whats the best you can get for your money.

I now have an 2016 330d LCI with LED headlights. I can tell you from experience that the LED head lights beats the Xenon.
at night. And the LCI some seems to be better spec with options again. In the end its budget mileage and extras that will be the deciding factor. Personally I dont buy a BMW over 100 000km because I change the oil in that ZF box. So I will buy a BMW with max 80 000km. Thats just my opinion

Did you try them side by side?
I had adaptive xenons and by my side a friend with led headlights.
In front of us, just a forest.
Xenons way better for far distances, LED amazing for short distance, you could see perfect in front of you, but not far. Xenons for long distance greater than LED.
We just turned on headlights one by one and check the forest, you couldn't see deep in the forest with LED, but you could see better with xenons.
We didn't test high beam, but I drove adaptive leds and it was mesmerizing to see them play with high beam assist and trying to avoid the glare on other drivers
I think Adaptive LED has better output than standard LED, but not sure, we didn't test them as he retrofitted the adaptive leds from standard. He also says is better with adaptive, might be just placebo or because on low speeds the output is wide and higher speeds the pattern is long, not wide(if that makes sense)
