Greetings My Fellow Fanatics

As per my last post, I was deciding between a 125i M Sport and a 325i M Sport, however after reading some threads and doing some research (YouTube Videos)

I have my heart set on getting a 335i M Sport, I just want to know from fanatics who have bought the car, when purchasing what are the things to look for so that I ensure I am getting a car in good mechanical condition.

Looking forward to hearing your guys trusted feedback:coolShake:

get one with some plan left with an option to extend if budget allows.

Same checks like any other car. Check comments.

I also have my eyes set on getting one, my dad might be willing to sell me his coupe, however I would like to get an idea of what the most common problems are, extending the plan isn't on the cards because its a 2008.

Great cars, but 2 different engines. N54 is 2 small turbos and N55 is 1 bigger, twin scroll turbo. N54 went up to 2010 ish I think. N54 easier/cheaper to mod probably.
Do your google homework. Loads of negatives on the internet, but amazing power to be had from both engines.
I've had problems with my N54, but still so worth it.

Yes, I would like to know to know what problems you had on the car, and is the N55 engine more reliable than the N54

Injectors, turbos, water pump, HPFP and lots of tyres!!!
Most HPFP were replaced when cars were under MP. My turbo seal went at 90k km and 2nd turbo seal went just over 100k km. Water pump failed around 70k kms. Cooling fan went just after waterpump. Injectors where sorted when under MP.
But having said all that, I'm still super happy with it. Because of doing so much research before I purchased I was aware of these possible problems and just dealt with them when they occurred.
Some people never have turbo problems and some do, luck of the draw. Also once going FBO any little issue would tend to show themselves quicker.
Buy it, but put away a little safety savings for if things should break. You get hell of a lot of car for the money and with just a few mods you can be a lot faster than some damn expensive cars out there.

Do it... lovely cars these..
Had mine for 6months now, just parted with R14k for a hydro control unit on DTC, ABS, Cruise control... if out of plan, get a warranty! Won't cover everything but cushions the blow..
