Exhaust Note is quieter

So i noticed that my exhaust note is MUCH quieter than it use to be...

History:
The 330i donar car i bought sounded like a MONSTER ON STEROIDS with this very exhaust on.

When i transferred everything into my wagon, It sounded Much quieter than usual
Even when the Previous owner of the 330i heard it, he asked me why is it sounding so soft??

To the Exhaust guys on this forum, if any, Why is it softer??

I transferred EVERYTHING from that 330i into my wagon.
So the Whole drive train, the Headers and the Full Exhaust..

Headers still have cats on. Middle Cats are off. Standard Center box with a SPEED box in the rear.

Cats at headers are not blocked, im still getting VERY GOOD mileage and no Lights or errors on ECU...

im going to have the cats removed this weekend anyway
Was just wondering why it would be softer on my wagon and it was LOUD AS HELL on the Sedan

Is your wagon also a 330i?

Edit. Maybe his exhaust wasn't fitted properly letting sound escape before mufflers? Just a though. I dunno.

I have recently found out (not sure on the validation - but the guy is a 330i owner and seems quite knowledgeable on all things BMW)...the mtech e46s have 20kgs less of sound deadening than excl. and individual models...i believe this is the case for just the sedans and wagons...

Just a thought, but this could be why it sounds "muted" inside the car:hammerhead:

Some cars do have less sound deadening , my car (318i) has thick rubber pieces that cover the back seat area and the bench area , I have seen similar cars , Same year and model with just a kind of woven , grey sort of ( that dog blanket) type sound deadening in the same place.
I dont know why but it must add more weight and give better insulation to the car . Even the bonnet , My car has this hard sort of woven kind of thing attached to the underside of the bonnet , where as I have seen others with just a thin foamy like cover . Very odd. Who knows what else is different between the different cars . The wagons I would assume to be very well insulated .

I transferred the engine and All from that sedan into my wagon so nothing is different

Ok, maybe this is the case..
Since all i did was remove the Drivetrain from the sedan and installed into my wagon. Then connected the exhaust.

The exhaust was not touched afterwards...
Will have to decat the headers then for more grunt.. lol
