sheesh, That thing shines after a wax...my goodness!

I don't think I ever had the car polished, just washed regularly as Black is a pain.
I think I have washed the Z4 5 times in the short time I have owned it already. :smashScreen:

I am keen to see what the car will look like with the black window trim.

Yeah the paint was very "dry" buds..did a baggie test and she's rough man.
Will clay and wax again in the next coming weeks. Will only send her to get detailed properly once the body is free of dents and what not.

Most of the small scratches, spiderwebs and holograms is sorted now.

Maybe I will do the chassis this weekend, depends on how badly I want my back broken[FACE WITH COLD SWEAT]

I need to do the same with the Z4, lots of scratches and swirls and little dents here and there that need to get sorted :(

What is a baggie test?

After washing and drying your car, the next thing you want to do is to inspect the paint for what we call,

Above Surface Bonded Contaminants

These contaminants can be,

Tree Sap, Mist, Industrial Fallout, Overspray Paint, Air-borne Dirt and Dust Pollution, Road Grime. You can check for above surface bonded contaminants by feeling the horizontal surfaces with your clean, bare hand using your sense of touch to detect what will feel like little bumps or surface texture on the finish. This type of inspection works well and is a good general indicator of above surface bonded contaminants.

To do "The Baggie Test", simply use a clean plastic bag by placing your hand inside the baggie and then feeling the horizontal surfaces like the bonnet, roof and boot lid. The film of plastic acts to intensify the surface texture created by contaminants bonded to the paint making it more dramatic to your sense of touch when you feel the paint through the baggie.

If the paint feels rough its time to clay.
And in anyway, before you polish a car you have to clay it in any case.

Awesome wax, lasts long and gives a good shine. You can get better shine from other waxes, but don't last as long.

Fusso lasts even longer
Thats stuff is amazing, expensive but worthwhile. And Fusso fills light blemishes like no other wax..

I just like 845 more because its my go to wax for all our cars etc.

So as always I use the first weekend I have with a new car to get all the wheels off and clean the underside as well as the wheel wells to see any damage and things that need attention suspension/tyre/wheel wise.

I couldn't take more pics as I was covered in grease, oil and generally look like a grease monkey with a limp.. ( back breaking work this!)

Here are some pics;

Thats all pics I managed to take.
Looks allot beter in persone tho.

Bushes seem not that old but she's still riding on stock ( original ) shocks/dampers!

Also the front bumper is scratched to shit and missing some covers and right side brake duct.

Will try and source these in the coming months or I must try and get a complete MTech2 bumper but then I should also do the rear bumper and side skirts.

Tyrea must also be changed, theres still decent life in them but the front and rear don't match.

Get a front MtechII bumper now then, don't waste money spraying and buying stuff for the stock bumper only to chuck it all for MtechII stuff later anyway. I have a bunch of the inner plastics needed for MtechII conversion, they were sourced for this car but never bought.

That is looking really good, what a difference man! When my Z4 is mechanically sound like this car I sold you I will start tackling all these kinds of things. I have done small things here and there for now. But it needs some proper TLC.

I can't wait to see how she looks with the new bumper!

I had no idea that you got all those inner plastics for me? I would have made a concerted effort to get the mtechII bumper if I knew that lol. I was always told that to put the mtechII bumper on would be a bitch because of all the stuff you need.
