Had some time today to clean the engine bay, took me awhile..

Whilst I was busy I noticed that the indicators was more white than orange.
Pulled the globes out and this is what 18 years of use does to these globes.

Replaced the front and rear indicators bulbs, so now it looks as it should.

Had time to install some new suspension parts which included;
Gabriel Gar Rider shock absorbers,
new Meyle shock mounts front and rear,
Axis RSM plates,
Meyle ARB end links,
Meyle tie rods and.

Handling has improved dramatically and couldn't be happier.

Upon closer inspection it seem that my lower balljoints are going to need replacing soon, will change the complete lower control arms just for piece of mind.

Car actually sits like 2-4 cm higher now with the new shocks.[FACE WITH TEARS OF JOY]

Looking good :thumb:

Shocks will probably settle over time.

Driving to the shops this morning I heard a slight scraping/screeching/high pitch sound coming from the rear of the car.
Brake pads check, wheel bearings (OEM) changed in 2015 according to service documents.

Was audible at about 45-55km/h, could it be diff related?

Hand brake shoes?
Nope, not it.
Will monitor it.

Must make an appointment with you in the new year so you can go over the car and check everything out and advise on what must be changed etc

For a cheap daily drive this car has been amazing so far.
This past week, week and half we did a lot of travelling (so far did 1700km this week) and the fuel consumption has worked out to 8.7L/100km. City/Highway driving.

Did a oil service yesterday with a OEM oil filter, Shell Helix HX7 and sommer changed the air filter. Worked out to just under R800.

Mileage now at 189kkm.

Is that 8.7L/100kms on the OBC or did you calc your litres used and the distance you covered? The OBC reads about 15% over. I tried to correct it but you can't go any lower than that...

With that correction, it could be as low as 7.5L/100kms :clapper:

Nothing to report...car is as reliable as the sun.
Just some small niggles that needs sorting (read: looking for more horsepower[SMILING FACE WITH OPEN MOUTH AND TIGHTLY-CLOSED EYES]) but saving till there is enough cash to do it properly.
