What happened to the ultimate driving machine?

Many people buy BMW's because of how it makes them look to everyone else..

And they could care less about how fast it goes/ doesn't go.

the F cars dont appeal to me in standard guise....M sport package will appeal to more customers....that being said.....times are hard, and sales on luxury goods do tend to suffer

When a potential buyer embarks on the "find a brand new car journey" cost is a major factor. Looks like BMW did some homework to add (hopefully) less costly models to the range.
