Engine type marking

Where can I see the engine type marking on my 320d? I quickly looked into the engine bay like the non-mechanic I am but can't see anything resembling the number.
I know it should be "N47 D20 O1".... but I just want to double check...

Thanx... I took a look and my bay looks totally different, but I don't have a metal plate in eyesight :bawling:

Any news on how to tell if you have the new 135kw engine?

I just had a thought, theres a website - www.realoem.com where you can enter your VIN number and it will tell you your Engine number (like VA76 for example).

For some odd reason, it doesnt pick up my cars VIN number and I have a 2010 320d AT.


Any thoughts guys?
