Is there a way to check weather or not an engine clearance was done?
The reason for me asking:
Im in the process of selling my Girlfriends Fiat palio that had an engine change a year ago. So armed with all the documents and proxy letter from my GF's mom(registered owner) I collected the needed docs at the traffic department, got the Datadots done and took the car to SAPS stikland for clearance on Tuesday. Got the clearance certificate and went back to the traffic department to get a new reg document with the new engine number. The clerk took the clearance doc and captured everything on the system before refusing to issue me with a new document because I am not the registered owner.
I asked him for the clearance certificate back and he said he already captured the details on the system and therefore must submit the doc. I accepted this and walked away thinking that all is fine. This morning my GF's mom went to the traffic department to collect the Reg doc and instead they gave her engine clearance forms and said that this was not done:bangdesk:
How can i prove that it was done already...if there is even a way.
