Eccentric shaft sensor failure

Would a bad 'oil leak' repair job result in the failure of the Eccentric shaft sensor?
It wouldn't quite be of any good to replace the Eccentric shaft sensor if one still has an engine oil leak, would it?

Just a follow up to the Eccentric shaft sensor failure;would the engine symbol come on and stay on if the eccentric shaft sensor fails?

Hi I also have the same problem oil is leaking from my eccentric shaft sensor causing the sensor to give error codes and reduced power.
