Hi All

Seems like I need to replace my front pads, sensors showing me 2500km left and message came up on the I Drive about 2 weeks ago.
Seems to have a bit more life than that though from a visual check.

Questions:
1. Do I need to replace the sensors as well. Where can I buy?
2. ATE pads cost R550 rand at MIDAS cheapest I could find (OEM)
same pads cost R1500 at agents excluding labour and sensors.
3. Heard the best place for sensors is Goldwagen?
4. Now my problem is no one seems to have stock of ATE?
5. Please advise on the exact store midas/goldwagen etc.

Please advise on pads, sensors and possible a place where I can buy, as car is out of warranty.

Regards

Hey bud,

Speak to Mohammed@EMIAutoParts

We try to keep sales within the Fanatics Advertisers Forum.
This will help us get better prices in future and being a Forum Sponsor you wont get BullS**ted

Prices will probably be the same or even less but even if its a few rands more, DO THE RIGHT THING...

I'm not sure about the E90 sensors, but E46 sensors are cheap so just replace them if they cheap. They usually need to be replaced once they've been triggered, if not then you can re-use them. I paid about the same for my brake pads from Midas. Can't remember what I paid for my sensors, but they were about R80-90 from Goldwagon and I needed 2 of them, one for the back and one for the front.

YUP

once the sensor has been "rubbed-thru" (triggered) then its a throw-away item, and needs replacement

Hi there,

I had a faulty sensor problem recently with my E92, I went to BMW in Centurion and paid R1000.60 to replace the sensor, best you avoid the dealers if you don't want to end up paying more money like me for a trivial problem!

That's insane.... They quoted me around R180-200 for sensors last year. Maybe the E90 sensors are different.

Sensors for E93 R256 for front...the labour to fit them on must be double so yes can explain the R1000.

They charged me R225 for the sensors and the rest for labour :dunno:

So around R800 to fit 1 sensor?:flyfun: That's what I paid to have all 4 of my disks, pads and sensors fitted by my private mechanic:thumbs: I only buy my parts from the dealers, I refuse to let them work on my car:nonono:
