Car is looking great, how is ownership like?
I am really considering a 325i if a 335i cannot materialize.

So far it has been amazing. The smoothness of the N52 and the linear power delivery is really satisfying. It was maintained by BMW prior to my purchase and I have driven approx. 15k KM since I've got it (I use this as my daily).

A day after collecting her - the wheel speed sensor decided to kill itself - this was replaced by the dealership.

I've had no issues with it, mechanically, but I've sorted out some wear and tear items with the last service (rear brake pads, rear shocks). So far the most expensive item(s) were tires (I've replaced both rear tires as they wore out weirdly - probably because of the worn shocks).

The only other issue/annoyance was that my fuel cover stopped closing/locking and the actuator gave up (the pin that locks the cover was mysteriously broken). This was replaced by SA AutoTech.

I plan on doing some preventative maintenance next month some time as I'm nearing the mileage of possible waterpump failure ( :thumbdo: ).

Other things on my list to check is:

1. Engine mountings (I heard these collapse on themselves over-time?)
2. Clean and swap of vanos solenoids.

Good luck with your search

Lekker mnr. How's the radio doing? Still enjoying it? Do you have torque pro installed on it?

Radio is great. Still enjoying it as compared to OEM. I basically only use it for the EQ (as you can set each frequency as opposed to just Bass/Fader/Treble) and Bluetooth capability. The reverse camera and 'distance' depiction is quite handy as well.

I do not have Torque Pro (I believe this app is for Android OS?)

A shot after a quick wash. Naturally, it rained moments later...

This looks really good.

Thanks for the feedback, I think it’s time I test drove one of these. Surely it will feel punchier than the E60 525i.

Thanks, mate. Perhaps it would because of the size difference and general feel in the structure of the car? I believe they both have the N52/N53 engine, with the exception of the older 5ers being M54 :)

Unfortunately, the weather isn't looking promising so she's parked off for the rest of the day :dunnoanymore:

Quick update: Scratched the front bumper lip and should be sorting that out soon :hammerhead:

Thanks for looking :blowheart:

Very very nice..... how much did that lip set you back?

I wish I knew. I got it as a birthday gift last week :smilebounce: :smilebounce:

Hey bud,

Found this out a while ago and forgot to update the thread. Lip was R3000 and it clearly isn't cf. It's plastic (see the last image I uploaded re scratches)

So - my milestone mileage came with an issue as well :hammerhead:

Driving on the highway (with no signs of any issues) and I get a CEL and the car goes into limp mode. :thumbdo:

Got the codes read out and my accelerator pedal module had mysteriously given up on me.
img-20180124-wa0022_2067591222.jpg

I had the car parked off while waiting for a part (car was not used in about a day and a bit more) and once I started her up this morning - she drove fine with no errors or warnings, however, the error was still present in the OBD2 scanner even after clearing it.

Part finally arrived (I went the second hand route as the mech had a part for me and the stealerships price was not justified IMO).

The part came off of a 320i Auto (Apparently the accelerator pedals are the same across the board and can be swapped out as long as it matches the vehicles transmission ie a manual part cannot go onto an auto car).

Code has now disappeared from the scanner and hopefully the car is back to normal.

Noteworthy points:

1. Easy DIY - just unscrew the existing pedal, remove the connector and plug in the new one.
2. New pedal connected fine and is in working order however looks a bit different to my original one. (I didn't get time to take pics as I was rushing out to the office however I've found an image online which basically illustrates this)

Original pedal on the right. New pedal (with exception to silver trims) on the left.

Told myself that I'll give the car a quick wash today since it's raining. 2hrs later and I really have no effort to touch the interior. Thankfully it's still clean :roflol:

I've been told that I don't take much rear pics of my car (probably coz I hate the spoiler idk :fencelook:) so here's one after giving her a wash :blowheart:

Random shot taken with my phone at Grounded Nation's First Fridays event. The Alpine White trio was just too tempting :cartel:

Since my last update, I've added on @F21GP spoiler to my car (finally got rid of the cheapy universal spoiler). Car is dirty at the moment and will be getting the diffuser sprayed in black soon so will post a rear pic soooon!

Other than that I plan on swapping my aircon control unit out this Saturday as the buttons on my current one is scratched (I've got the unit - just need to swap it out).

Thanks for looking :blowheart:
