Okie dokie, so I wanna post a question to all the e90 drivers (and those that know) out there.
As most of you are aware, we have an e90 in the family, and yesterday I had it booked in at SMG for, what the OBC called, a service. It also displayed 7000km in the service window.
This car had an oil change on just over 49 000km. So yesterday, they told me that the current service is just a brakefluid flush. On collection the car, they told me that the microfilter needs to be replaced in 2 months time, the front brakes in around 6000km time, the rear brakes in about 16000km time, and the next service is due in 19000km time.
Now my question:
Yesterday's little brakefluid flush amounts to R400.00. (Covered by motorplan.)
Obviously the brakes etc will be more.
Now, this is all covered under Motorplan, all good and well. What happens after Motorplan? One is going to pay alot for labour, for stuff that was usually part of a scheduled Inspection 2 service.
Yes, you are doing smaller thing on a regular basis, as compared to an Inspection 2 service for instance, so yes, the maintenance is staggered, but in the long run, you will be paying a hell of a lot more for labour.
Anyone driving a e90 out of Motorplan who would like to comment?
