E90 coolant flush

I have an e90 320i which has just done 104 000kms. The service book does not state when a coolant flush should be done. Any ideas? My car has always been maintained by the agents and according to their records the coolant has never been changed.

Not sure if i understand the question. Please elaborate.

Sorry for not being clear. At what mileage should the radiator and engine be flushed and the coolant replaced ? My previous e36 had stated intervals for this.

No need to do that if the car was regularly maintained. Your e90 is far advanced from the old e36. Just enjoy the car. Your regular maintenance checks will indicate the computer info what has to be done at what intervals.

Always assumed that coolant would lose its effectiveness over time. I remember flushing my e36 and seeing all the muck come out!

I am very sure the coolant was topped up over the 104 milage period. But you are asking about cleaning/flushing out the radiator cooling system.

I still think there is no need to fiddle if the car has been regularly maintained.

Is the car currently underperforming? Do you experience high temps or anything unusual on the car that may require a check or fix?

Hi

Coolant as well as brake fluid should be changed every 2 years! BMW agents easily "forget" to do this. When I checked our BMW's service history, none of the above was done in 5 years..... They even just reset the brake fluid service indicator without changing the fluid.

I would change the coolant if it was not done in the last 2-3 years.

Just my 2c

Cars running fine and has always been serviced timeously by agents. I did a bit of research and found out that E90 cooling systems are 'sealed for life'. Which basically means no coolant change, just top ups. Find it hard to believe, but what do I know!

My e90 has nearly done 170k km and I would also like to do a coolant flush. Planning to as soon as i get a gap to look for a diy, or sommer tell the techie to do it.

My e36 was very very dirty when i replaced the radiator, so rather safe than sorry. Car makes dont care much for a car after 150k km is my feeling. I think they will neglect to mention stuff...
