E90 / 92 Tow Bar Recall

Hey guys
i recieved a mail from Bmw SA stating that my vehicle's towbar needs to be checked.
I called Bmw Autobahn Isando and they said they knew nothing about it.

Now that was 3 months ago and yesterday i recieve another mail stating the same thing.
I called Autobahn and they now saying, they having a recall on 3 series
E90 / 92 that was fitted with the removable tow bar to come in.

They said apparently the ball from the top of the tow bar breaks off.
Just heads up guys.

Waiting for them to get parts and then i can take my car in.
It takes 2 hours

If its a recall they should replace it. I will have mine checked out.

theres a time i really used mine & if it didnt come off then, i think its pretty bullet proof

dads fortuner was out of action ( cant remember why ) in any case went to fetch my dads airplane on the back of one of those double axle trailers, now i mean that thing in itself isnt exactly light, but not exceeding the cars towing capability. then with the aerie on the back it was quite the pull all the way from messina.

so i think ill be okay because there is no way ill ever in my entire life allow my car to pull something like that again. my car rarely even see's the venter behind it so i reckon it should be okay for me

But if they're replacing them for free why not ?

you have a point, does anyone have that mail or where i can get my hands hold of it. I havent recieved it.

i cant exactly go to mr stealer & ask for a new one without some form of paper work or recomendation.

we all know how they like to back peddle themselves out of anything

Yes you will need a mail or letter.
Mine has my Vin number and reg details so ,i doubt i can mail it to anyone.
maybe check with your nearest dealer, as when i called them i asked is this a recall or only specific vehicles and i was advised by the lady it might turn out to a recall done on a specific year.

ahhhhh i see. i think ill give the garage closest to me a call & find out whats, what.
