Awesome build man - And looks like some insane fun.
Many Thanks! Im so happy with the build, received so much criticism that the E90 wont work and the wrong car for a race car, ECU Management will be an issue, the N52 motor wont last... and many other

However this far, the motor has never being opened, done 204000km original kms. Ive moved the red line to 7500rpm, which I do use! Running on the stock ECU, its super reliable! Completed a full season last year, with only not finished 1 race, due to a broken V-Belt.
I just check oil, water and a bolt & nut check before every race, it just goes!
Handles brilliant, its just heavy vs the other cars in our class, would like to get it lighter... but that's a topic for another day

Don't fiddle with the motor. That is a rabbit hole that a lot of guys go down. If it runs keep it like that and just make sure to service it and use proper fluids. Mine has been in the car for 4-5 years. Focus on technique and car setup. And shed the pounds. Yours and the cars...:ROFLMAO:

Was racing last weekend at Redstar - ended 2nd for the day in Class D, after ended 3rd in both races with some luck of other cars not making it due to the excessive heat we had. See the links below of both race action

We are racing this weekend at Kyalami M-Fest, super excited!!

Good Morning all,
As Im busy with a new BMW race car project, Ive sold my beloved E90 330i last year.... to get the funds to complete the other car, which I will do a new post hopefully soon.
However, the E90 was an awesome car, had the most fun Ive ever could have imagined in our race series. However it did include a huge learning curve and some costing school fees as there are not many E90 330i cars in the race series to get info from.
The E90 is an excellent platform to start of, its handling is brilliant and performs so well even with limited modifications. The only rear downfall of the E90 330i is the weight, it heavy comparing to the other lightweight cars Ive race against.
As well the N52 motor, like a love hate relationship - its great motor and makes awesome power in standard form, however you cannot tune or develop the engine, unless you through crazy money into it.

But surely will miss the E90, every race was epic!

With 30l of fuel, without the driver 1336kg,
Take into account some of the E36's Ive raced against was 1100kg
Wow, that is really heavy! The E34 M5 is pretty much exactly the same weight with its cast iron 3.5L ship anchor of a motor lol.

I think we are currently about 10-20kg heavier than you with fairly easy losses still be be made

Hi all,
This is the build Ive being busy with over the last 2 years.... after selling my E90 330i end of last year, decided to go big with this build.

Its based on a 1980 BMW e12, was originally a 520i Auto, but upgraded the power plant with a N62B44 BMW 4.4 V8 with a 6 speed manual,

Small video above of my first test outing at Zwartkops Raceway, like all new build had a few small hiccups, but extremely happy with the feel and power!

This is really cool! You definetely have too much power if you need to lift on the back straight
