e90 330i decat

Hi guys, apologies if this has been discussed but I couldn't find anything.

I have an e90 pre-lci 330i bonestock, I would love to decat and replace with a straight pipe, thing is will I need to do software after? Or can I run the car without software? Anyone do this before? My car's cats sit in the branches not in the exhaust. Just going to do a decat and change the backbox for a nice sound. Any info will be much appreciated

The N52B30 will surely have pre and post cat oxygen sensors. So you'll need to have mini-cats, cat foolers or something of the like to take care of that aspect. You shouldn't need to do software, however a remap/software will enhance the effect/gains of any sort of hardware change, ie: A decat.
