I have heard of the egr cooler leaking into the inlet manifold but have fortunately not experienced it. When working on my F10 with N47 motor i noticed that the egr cooler has a small radiator inside the cooler which i assume is the "cooler" part of the egr cooler. What i can suggest until you get an egr delete kit is to take a thin piece of flat metal and cut/grind it to the shape of the steel gasket that is fitted between the egr and the inlet manifold to blank off the egr from the manifold. Also, if you can i would also get a similar but maybe slightly thicker piece of flat steel and make a blank for the pipe coming from the exhaust into the cooler in order to keep water from the engine going into the engine and exhaust. This is only a temporary solution until you can get an egr delete kit. Just an idea! You should actually not drive the car until you have fitted the egr delete kit.
