e90 320d fuel consumption

Hi , my 320d used to be light on fuel, 13km/l town and 16km/l highway @120km/h
Currently 12km/l town and 14km/l higway

It is serviced when due by the agents, has a new airfilter and 164k on the clock.
My driving habits haven't changed, i only fill up with 50ppm, my tyres are 2.2bar,
It is auto.

I used to get 850km per tank work and back, now only 750km
I can not understand what is wrong, i know some people get better than what i used to get, but i was more than happy with that. I pamper my car driving wise.

Things coming to mind , could be the exhaust system starting to get blocked, could be a small leak in the turbo to engine plumbing, possibly i need to use injector cleaner for the first time in this car, or have i driven the car lazy, the car pulls like a dream.

Maybe it is time for an upgrade, chip and exhaust, mild is the idea, this might just be what is needed to sort it out.

What would you okes suggest i look at for the problem, i am handy in the engine bay, but usually too carefull with these modern cars.

Thanks in advance

It is recommended that for ecery 500 km you drive in town you do a 30 km drive on the highway at constant speed to go into cleaning mode and clean the cat. I do not know the exact figure or distance I just estimated but im sure its thereabout. I know its in the manual.

Also use nf dieselboost with every second tank to clean them injectors. Available from our sponsors on the forum like moranor

i am also thinking blocked cat or dpf.. maybe have a spirited 100km drive with injector cleaner and see if it makes a difference?

I agree with netercol.

Also - you may be used to the power (that's what happened to me :) ). RFT can be pumped to 2.6 or even 2.8 bar. It is recommended to keep them pumped at the higher pressures to preserve the side walls. Also that should improve fuel economy.

how much km's you got on now? Maybe the DPF is dirty, and needs to clean itself by drivign as the okes suggested.

Pour in 250ml of Jasco FC in your tank at your local sasol and go for a nice drive.
