My son took a couple of pics of my car at sunset a few days ago which turned out quite nice. Car was not properly clean but looks ok. Car is also stuck here!!! Been standing for 8 months which a broken water pump and just scrapped money together to get that sorted but me being stupid never disconnected the battery and now its so flat that even trying to jump start with the Mrs car it wont start. The drain on her car (Disco) is so intense her lights etc drop!!! Now to gather moolas for a new battery...........!! Wont be leaving battery connected for extended periods again :hammerhead::hammerhead:

Thanks and yes, cant wait to drive it properly again or even get it started to put it in the garage instead of standing in the middle of nowhere!! I brought it home from the water pump fix and they had said it was a bitch to start even with jump packs and cars and I stupidly stopped in the middle of the driveway and turned off. Realising what I had done seconds too late I could not even start it straight after! The other issue is we cant get the Disco in the garage either because of where its standing!!

thats a sh!t on...if it makes you feel any better we once lost the key of my wifes car and it was parked behind my car...we towed it out with trays under the wheels :roflol:

i would borrow trolley jacks from the guys on here and roll it in haha

NOt a bad suggestion. I do have one but its not a big one and rolling on the bricks is a bit dodge with the weight of the car and the joints in the paving. Will give a try though.

Why don’t you take the battery out the disco and fit to the bmw, move bmw into garage, then remove battery again and refit into disco.

Will be better than leaving it standing outside for yonks...

what a mission :roflol: but yes does make logical sense. forgot you said theres a disco.

Its such a mission getting the battery out of the disco, also a much squarer shape that will not go into the well of the BM and dont think cables will fit. Will have a look but its a mission as said

Not sure where you based... but i can loan you a small battery charger to try charge the battery up and see if that will work temporarily.

Speaking of the battery, it might be worth while taking it to a battery place to confirm if it has a dead cell or similar. It might just need a slow overnight charge.

Hi Sash, thanks for the compliments, think yours is tops as well!! Regarding your suggestion - it was on a slow charger whilst at the workshops and I have tried to charge it - it does charge up but the minute its disconnected it starts to drop rather quickly. Its as though its lost all the Amp power or ability to hold the Amps. I have checked with a multi meter on the voltage and as I disconnect charger its sitting around 12.7V and the minute I press the start button it drops to 8V or less. I will remove it and have it checked but I am pretty sure that because it stood connected for 8mths+ not being driven or charged its pretty screwed......

Hi Danny, Thanks for the offer, I am based in PTA East, Erasmuspark area (near to Sash actually) but I do have a charger that I tried and it does charge up but drops quickly as mentioned in my reply to Sash. Appreciate your generous offer though.

Since you're in PTA maybe check out Pauls Mini workshop. He quoted me decent prices after my e60 stood for 6 months. I had a New waterpump, battery, service, plugs, a few bits and bobs and labour for under 13k if I remember correctly. Battery was <2k

Thats sound alot like my battery that was changed not too long ago. But mine went from perfect to screwed in 1 day. Luckily it was under warranty.

It wouldn't hold charge and drops considerably as soon as off the charger, or as soon as you wake the car up. Have you checked with ABM on a replacement?

HI Sash, Yeh did check with ABM price with discount was just over 2100 if I remember. Got so many quotes I struggle to remember exactly, but the cheapest was Willard in Menlyn at 2k.
