saw a 550 i e60 for sale at fountains yesterday.

has 83000km on the clock and they want R385 000 for it.

is this price okay ?

how heavy on fuel are these cars, would be traveling a round trip of 100km a day, work and back, some highway driving.

anything else i should know?

might trade in my car on it

thanks

Hi, What year model is it? I think it is a bit too much, I paid R 289K for a 2006 with 58K on the clock still on motorplan (Sep 2012), and I have seen others for around 300K with less mileage that the one you saw, it is not too bad on fuel, long runs are great, runs at 8.5 - 9 litres per 100km, every day use runs at 12.5 litres per 100km (get +/- 500km to a tank), I absolutely love driving this car, It is so very different from all my other BM's. The comfort and seats are extraordinary,
this is one BM that even my wife wants to drive,

Price is a bit much, remember soon as it goes out of motorplan, it drops 50k in value... You can never get that back...

Other then that... buy the thing.... they are awesome..

Please take it so I don't have to think about it anymore. Seriously, chances of finding another low mileage manual are basically 0.

If you are in the market for a E60 550i, try to get the facelifted version. AFAIK, the engine is the same, but the electronics have been slightly revised. Completely different iDrive system, electronic gear lever (on autos), and a few cosmetic changes that make it worthwhile IMO.

I got the 4.8i X5, which is apparently the same engine and it has amazing tractability. Can imagine that the 550i would just be so much better with that engine in a lighter body.

If you buy a proper one, you won't look back. The difference between the E90 and E60 in terms of luxury and comfort is HUGE!
