E46 Suspension groaning and creaking

What do you think could be the reason for this creaking and groaning sound when turning the steering wheel?

It predominantly happens when cold, in the mornings and disappears quickly. It's quite loud.

Could it be ball joints in the suspension arms or stabiliser links?

I got annoyed trying to figure it out and replaced my entire suspension  :tiptoe:

It turned out to be the ball joints in the controls arms. I replaced the whole control arm, both sides.

Also did the tie rod ends.
