E46 pre-face bulbs

Would it be a problem changing the headlight bulbs from the normal 55w ones to some 100w ones?

I know with E36 fog lights, the 100w bulbs melt the replacement plastic fog covers if you have them. But would it do the same to the headlights?

I am not sure about this but I think 100W bulb are illegal in SA.

What I am sure about is that with 100W bulbs you will be drawing almost double (1.8 times) the normal amount current through the wiring of your headlight system, and that is never a good idea as it can cause damage to the wiring or possibly the DME system (whatever it's called).

Haha, those bulbs arent legal though, it even says so in the article... But I would buy them and use them for my brights. It also says they are xenons, which is a lie.

Hi,

I have replaced the 55w to 100w H7 on my FL 330. They switch on when first installed, but once you switch them off and on again one of the globes switch off.

So, no it wont work for very long... You can use them on your brights though.

I have the 55w fogs and driving lights, 100w Brights... BTW: you can these from Autostyling in Randburg!

Thanks
Arbee
