Hi,
I have a 2003 318i with the N42B20A engine. I've been having trouble with my car's temp gauge for last few months. The problem is that when i start the car and i drive for about 5 min the temp gauge will shoot to full and the 10min later it will return to its correct position at 12 o'clock. I had the error codes read and the result was P0116-Engine Coolant Temperature Circuit Range/Performance Problem.
I have replaced the thermostat and the inline sensor. My next quest is the temperature sensor that sits under the oil filter. Check the link below please;

I want to replace part number 9. Now my question is, how do i get to this sensor? Its pretty impossible to get to it from the top. I was also wondering if there is a special procedure that needs to be followed while replacing this sensor. Or is it just, plug it out, screw it out and screw the new one in and plug it back in?
Please any help will be greatly appreciated.
