Hi fanatics

I recently decat my ///M (Powerpipes) and had the intermediate pipes replaced behind the X-pipe, problem is that it keeps blowing behind the X-pipe resonator on the welding(which was done right against the little silencer box) Do i need a new x-pipe or what options do I have regarding that ?
She aint pulling like she should :cursin:

the weld is breaking coz its being put under tension and the vibration is causing it to crack.
they need to relieve the tension on the pipe by aligning the pipe better.

Do you have any update with this problem of your x-pipe? I am not sure but i think my friend had the same problem, the mechanic advice her to actually replace the x-pipe and the intermediate pipe.

If you in JHB , get a hold of Alister from Powerflow Randburg he does all the Xcede cars countrywide and they have some special equipment to get these X-pipes right the first time round.

Will the X-pipe have any gains on a 2002 E46 M3 ?

I work 5mins away from Powerflow Randburg

From the cars i see leaving the workshop and Xcede on them , the cars always proved it ran on the road and showed the figures on the dyno.

Powerflow Randburg are in their new shop and WOW is all im gonna say.

In a few months time my 325isTurbo will be coming out of that shop.

Ok ! So what you telling me is that the E46 ///M's original exhuast system does not have n X-pipe built into it. This will be n add-on

As far as i know all Mpowers dating even from the E30 M3 had the Xpipe type system. Aftermarket just betters the system giving better performance.

Best is to take your car to Alister or call and speak to him.

My personal take on E46 M3 , decat and software works wonders.

There is a post somewhere on this forum with dyno runs done with decat and Xcede with a before and after if that helps.

Thanx for the help, I'll call him. I took the car to RGMotorsport for a dyno reading last week and pushed 176.5wkw its been decatted and has a Bmc replacement filter. Does my power figure sound right ?

from the millions of posts on m3forum, the only thing that works is decat (and they change headers, as they have crappy cat in headers there)

any other changes just affect sound, or a loss in torque

Different dynos give different readings. Best is to always to do a before and after run on the same dyno before and after mods.

From what i remember 180-185wkw power is what most E46M3s do at KAR or Snails dyno.

if you suspect the car is low on power rather get it logged first before attempting to do anything else.
