Hi guys

Recently my e46 M3 when i corner hard with the car theres a whining noise that comes when turning the wheel however it goes away after a while anyone experience the same issue and could shed some light not sure if its the steering rack

Sounds like the pump. The banjo bolt on the rack should maybe be modified first to eliminate any costly repairs.

That star like configuration in the opening of the bolt causes a restriction sometimes, so just remove it. It's located on power steering pipes that connect to your steering rack.

Time to have engine mountings replaced..?
Check for wear marks on the steering column.
i.e. between exhaust & steering column

You'll also feel a slight vibration on the steering esp. when turning left

During cornering the engine leans more with
worn/old engine mountings, causing the engine
to touch where it is not supposed to.
