We need to see your M vs Peertjies M. Then we'll know how much difference it makes.

It is pretty kak, but atleast we know the motors will last longer

I had my 2001 M3 Unichipped a few months ago, but felt I needed better performance. After some homework done, I decided to have a new decat exhaust system built and a proper cold air induction system installled, and have the Unichip remapped. Rob Green Motorsport did the job for me and the M3 rolled out with 190kw measured at the wheels under load @ 7000 rpm. At 7500 rpm 189kw. At 8000 185kw. High revs power increased by almost 20 kw on the wheels. Induction sound let's everybody stop in their tracks and watch me passing by. A great job done thanks to Steeve Green at RGM. Rear susp bushes also upgraded with polyurethane.

Next mod, head and cams, max power must come in at 8500 rpm. I want to see at least 300 kw(flywheel)

Smit... That's the perfect combo and I'm not surprise by the results and the reaction you get from the cold air intake system. Have you considered a power pulley, it eliminates the stresses from the accessories and is said to help with " on tap" performance .Good move there

Moranor, I also could not believe my eyes the first time I had the M3 on a lift. The so-called cross-over joint and rear silencers showed clear signs of abnormal high heat build-up. The silencers had "expansion boxes" which is extremely resrictive. I specifically asked that NO such silencers should be uti lised!! Total rubbish.

:flyfun:

The Koni's are excellent, absolutely fantastic. I have the seings on 3/4 back and front. Still good for normal road use, as I start to push hard, the shock respond perfectly. I cannot wait to get onto the track at Zwartkops. Especialy now that I have fited my new Powerbrake front disks and pads. I stuck with standard diameter GT-series discs and Endless Gt-4 pads.(Rears still stock).

The brakes are still being run-in, but already show signs of great progressive braking ability. I am looking forward to report back further on the brakes's performance

Smit, this is a long thread so as I read on I noticed that you changed your pipes. Did RGM do a muffler system for you cos that would have produced no gains, just sound. Your second move to eliminate the cats with lower cells or even even primary delete will show an increase in power . Is that whats been done now .

Anyone here tried the xcide software on their e46 ///m3?

Thanks
I had it on my ex E46 M3. Gains were had. Besides that Sherwin is a sexy bitch and he will make you feel funny in your front pants.

Hi guys! I realized that I did not answer on the last few messages during September. I had quite a hectic time during the last quarter of the year with court cases in Pta.

In any case, to say the least, the RGM exh is cr@p!!! I cannot believe those guys give themselves out as specialists. As I removed the air intake system in Nov, I also noticed how they have butchered my car where the brackets and bolts were fitted and fastened. It was just shocking to see the poor quality of workmanship they did.

I also had a De Graaf system designed and fitted to my GT3 RS. Stunning quality with awesome sound.

I am looking at fitting stiffer anti-rollbars and lowering springs to the M3. I want to lower by about 25mm, our roads are to sh!t to go down more than that.

What advice can you guys give in the suspension department?

Speak to Crash nemisis about his M3 suspension and he can advise you on what he has, moranor at axis can supply. Rgm's work has always been shit, the only stuff that looks good is anything up top like boost pipes ect :nonono:

I have fully adjustable Bilstein PSS10 coilover suspension. I can adjust ride height, stiffness, damper settings, etc. So, I can set the car for comfortable yet sporty suspension for normal driving, and when I arrive at the track, I make a few adjustments and I can now be 50mm lower, much stiffer and my rebound can be adjusted.

Also, I have front camber pates, allowing me to adjust my camber for front steering and getting the best grip in turns.

You can ask Ga3m. He came for a ride in my M3 around some tight corners. The suspension setup is amazing. It's like driving a gokart with super sticky tires.

Be advised. When you set everything to it's stiffest setting, the rebound adjusts as well, thus giving very very little play and the car doesn't absorb any bumps. Your spine does. BUT ITS AWESOME.

I also have UUC front and back swaybars, I have AC schnitzer Front strut brace and an HPF under Brace.

Hope this helps.

however with a better suspension comes the risk of leaving the rear sub frame behind :fencelook:

Philip I would change the sways 1st unless you want the car lower
you can always fit springs after if the sways are not enough for you :)

Just some background on the car It already has Koni Sport Adjustable dampers
these paired with some adjustable swaybars will give some nice flexibility to get it where Philip wants it

here are pics of the H&R and Eibach drop the M3 I promised

H&R

Eibach

subframe rips out from power/hard launches this has little to do with suspension... rear plates for the shock towers are a good idea the front shock mounts for the M3 do a good job at dispersing force as they have a larger mounting area than the normal e46 mount

What make swaybars should I consider, as always I would look at parts that are cost effective and functional. I think I will go for H&R springs as suggested by Moranor.

I would not spend unnecessay money on the M3 as the RS is currently doing most of the track work.

One change that will follow for sure is a set of Bridgestone R semi slicks, in the place of the Accelera's fitted at the moment. These tyres have zero zip niks grip, even on a good dry tarmac.

During this comming year I would like to take the M3 to the track as well, then the set-up must be right.

you will need to run stiffer setting on those rubbers to keep body roll in check

the stiffer the setup the harder the tires work to take full advantage of very sticky rubber harder settings will be needed compared to the best setup on rubber that is not so grippy

we could do H&R or EIbach sways

H&R
e46 M3 30mm 3x adjustable Front 25mm 2x adjustable Rear
R 8395

Eibach
e46 M3 30mm 2x adjustable Front 25mm non adjustable Rear
R 6670

disadvantage of the Eibach sways for the e46 is no adjustablity at the rear
you can still do slight adjustment at the front to balance the car but the H&Rs will give you more freedom to finetune
