is that a 1500 series Tag?

no looks like F1

That is a TAG for sure as to the series I have no idea I shall ask Glen though and report back.
All I can tell you is that it cost a lot less than this rebuild :)

And the man who can reverse for the year award goes to whom ever did that.

The pic is actually deceptive there is enough room to park a Z3 M in that space :)

Yeah, and I hope Peter didn't swop the spline shafts again :roflol:

I did actually....had to ask Glen to use a 5lb hammer to close the end caps. :)

what cam was used?

please do a full build/spec sheet on this engine

A copy of the Build sheet is with Glen and the standard cams were used.

Individj its an aquaracer... Got it for a moerse deal couple of years ago.

Moranor, nothing hectic, 11.5:1 JE pistons, a 30 thou Cometic head gasket, and 3 angle valve seats. The entire rotating assembly was balanced as a unit, she is smooooth as silk brother. Oh, and VAC main and rod bearings, undersize as the crank had to be machined, and a boatload of hours and Peter's meticulous assembly of said parts. New oil pump drive chain, new cam chain, new tensioner rails, vanos was overhauled by Pyotir, including rattle kit, you supplied the seals etc ;)

A shootload of tlc and patience, and Pyotir didn't even take a swing at me with a breaker bar, although I did stab him with a screwdriver putting in the rear main oil seal ;)

Valve clearances set to Pyotir's usually high level of accuracy. In fact he stood and watched me vloek and swear and struggle my gat off myself with some of them

And about R107k later she's back, bad, and better than new.

nice :)

I was shocked to see how much they had to take off the rods to balance them I thought they would be pretty good considering its an S54

Quite a bit Moranor. Did you see the crank? They shaved quite a bit off there as well. I suppose due to it being bent then straightened. All I can say is hats off to Dynamic in edenvale, their work is very well finished. I've seen some hacked cranks before...
