It sounds more like something touching the wheel...bearing sounds different, the Flex Disk Guibo is on its way out, but its not that bad...and its not the Guibo iam hearing guys

Its your drive shaft from the Diff to the wheels, you will discovery a torn cv boot, where your grease has come out, or its just damaged and omits an erratic sound.

I also never heard the noise I heard, I had the e30 318i, and only then did I discover the use of cv's on a rear wheel drive car.

Let us know...Its either the inner(Diff side) our outer boot(Wheel side)...inspect the rubber boots thoroughly.

Its nothing serious, its similar to a front wheel drive car.

All you do, is either replace the fault cv at either end of the shaft, or you replace both(which is probably safer and wiser on an M).

I can tell you its from hard acceleration and some traction lose.

Should be a fairly affordable and easy fix. Take it into a cv centre for a proper inspection. Avoid high speed driving until you know whats wrong as it can sieze and cause major damage.

JUst as i was bout to get happy, the thing started Cluckking away again and loud as ever, gave Peter a call a few times but to no avail, was close to X-mas so i understood. Finally i decided to crawl under the car and have a look...and well, there it was, the bracket keeping my handbrake cable in place right next to my wheel was happily dangling and cause of the noise, looked for a 10mm bolt, fitted, and all is good... So it doesn't hurt to have a look before we go running off to stealerships and mechies boys..:skit:
