E46 Compact front speaker

Hi guys

Can anyone tell me if they have replaced the front speakers in a E46 '02 compact?, Or rather the covering grill.

My Girlfriend has no respect for cars and somehow....??? managed to stick her siletto right through the METAL grill on my passanger side door

Since it now has a 2" hole right in the middle I need to find a replacement. the speaker seems ok fortunatley but as for the grill no such luck.

I have had a look around and cant see how you get it off without taking the whole door panel off. can I just pop the grill off by any chance?

also anyone know where I can get a replacement grill cover since cant see any on ebay or is it a day driving around scrap yards...

Any advise will help, photos would be fantastic.

put her in the boot, if my chick did that, id make her walk home, unless it was during a heated.... then i cant

dude, check the scrap yards, i dont suspect the grill will cost munch, but i got a feeling they will try sell you the entire panel.
maybe chat to gizmo.

The door panel will have to come off, so the scrapyard will most likely sell the complete door card rather than the grill only. But you can try. :thumbsup:

Yeah I thought about putting in her in the boot but then she's no doubt figure a way to knack my sub and amp....

Went to BMW dealer today and ordered a replacement grill cover on cost £9 so not too bad. just a shame i've gotta take off the whole door panel to drill the old one out as after 2 hours net research it appears there plastic welded from the inside. so will have to drill it out and reweld the new one in

Out of interest, I'm going to phone and find out how much that same grill would cost us here in South Africa
