SO you know how you plan to get loads done during December, and then your wife is like...

:thumbdo:

I did manage to sort out a few loose end though...

First up was the pesky oil filter housing gasket, real PITA to replace and not the most rewarding task buuuut it's done now. Didn't take many pics since there are tons of diys online...

Housing removed, condition of old gasket:

The reason I chose to replace the gasket:

New gasket in place:

Then it was time for a full service

Engine bay got a good clean to hide the evidence :fencelook:

And finally the obligatory glamour shot

**Boring post alert**

The car has always had a bit of play in the steering department, finally got around to diagnosing the culprit as the steering coupling.

Ordered one from the dealership and R2500 later it's here and ready for fitment. Car is currently at the shop getting it replaced. Can't wait to drive it after!

Hi guys,

So the soft touch material had been annoying me for a while, The reason I took so long to repair is due to the fact that I wanted an OEM finish... All the coatings I've seen tend to be too Black and shiny, whereas the OEM finish is more grey and matte.

Came across the following:

https://www.autostyle.co.za/car-acc...rap-renovating-coating-carbon-matt-black.html

Was hoping for a matte finish but alas, it was basically satin black :thumbdo:

Old stuff removed with tar remover

Actually liked the finish it left on this panel, so it remained unpainted

Not too worried about the top storage compartment, plan on replacing that with cupholders anyway. All in all it's shinier than expected but much better than before.

Some random snaps...

Looks good. Satin black is perfect IMO, because matte scratches easily, and can look untidy on a surface with lots of contact.

As most of you know, the car is currently advertised for sale.

A forum member has made an offer so the car is tentatively sold :blueCry:

Thought it would be nice to send her in for a light detail before handing the keys over.
