E46 330i - Strange problem

Hi Guys,

Hope you all well.

Been having a strange problem with the E46 (2004 model 330i Auto) :bangdesk:

Whenever I turn LEFT out of a particular filling station (the Durban guys will know the Shell garage near Gateway opposite McDonald's) the DSC light comes on and the car goes dead. During this time the car can be steered but when i press the accelerator pedal nothing happens.:argh:

It takes about 3 seconds to go back to normal. This particular exit is downhill turning left onto an incline so its probably something to do with the angle in which the car goes. Only experience it at this location as I have yet to drive on a place with similar angles to this.

Any ideas what it could be?

Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Wow. That is interesting.

I know wheel speed sensor sometimes throws DSC light, and may hold back power. Try turning off DSC and go try turn down that left hander. See what happens.

I wonder if it's not the throttle sensor that dies when the dsc becomes active.

Does this happen everytime the dsc comes on?

Disengage the DSC fully and see if it persists.

Check error codes.

Look for another turn similar to this one and if it happens again:thumbs:

Go fill at total on the other side of gateway, theres no inclines so you turn onto a flat road :fencelook:

Have someone stand outside the car and look. You'll probably find that the inside wheel lifting of the ground. Had the same thing at a buddies driveway.

Thanks for the replies guys. :praise:

Only logged on now - experienced it at another left hander thats not as bad as the garage one so it seems to be getting worse. Will try with the DSC off and getting the codes read.

I don't think the wheel is lifting off the ground.

I've changed steering rack recently so that may have something to do with it.
