Moranor. Is this the only indication the vanos seals need replacing?

One of the other symtoms is bad fuel comsumption, if your comsumption has deteriorated then that too can be sure sign of vanos seals failing.
frikkieh said:Engine just dies when depressing the clutch as you approach a stop was the camshaft position sensor on mine. You have a 330i, therefore the rpm gauge might just dip below idle and restore to normal idling position
Erratic idling / misfire - inlet manifold / vacuum leak, plugs, coils, MAF.
Unplug the MAF, see if it makes a difference.
Fuel filter is a must every 10-15000km's, regardless and just because.
Vanos related / seals - lazy, hesitation on pull away.

Frikkie, do you know what that fuel filter costs? :dropjaw:
Pho3niX90 said:SO I changed the vanos and have done 500km + since. The hesitation is still present and I feel no difference, even though the vanos pistons had play on them when checking as per the DIY.
I don't know what to do anymore.
frikkieh said:Mine costs R250, from ABE parts; its an old type one line in, one line out. I replace more often than recommended.
R1200 for a filter WTF ????
Perhaps my filling stations have dirty fuel or something :dunno:
I will make a Video post next time I replace, so you can see what it looks like after 10 000 + km's.
That's about a 1000 liters of fuel through there @10km/l consumption.
When the car starts with any hesitation, it is the first replacement I do.
Next time I must get myself one of these.
Just wear my nuclear suit when I do one.

Are you 100% sure all the coils are working 100%?

moranor@axis said:"feel no difference" no difference to the hesitation or no difference to engine at all?
SP33DYV said:Just keep in mind that the factory fitted fuel filter includes the fuel pressure regulator as well.
