Hi not yet, but that one looks eerily similar to the blue one I went to look at that had R61k accident damage in 2007... same exact specs and colour and mags and milage.. bit strange. Will go and have a look if its the same one.

Hi any luck finding car yet.

Saw this on gumtree 2003 model manuel low mileage. Might be worth looking at. The Garage where car is standing is close to Pick & Pay Parow.

well it sounds like a rattle sound and its there while the car idles and does go away as revs build yeah

Ok so it shouldn't be a huge issue? Another interesting thing is, according to the internet the car was produced in August 2003, so its definitely the 150kw version. Wonder why the guy is selling it as a 2002?

Best to have the rattle/vibration checked out by a reputable mech first though

Have your mech check it out, coisman run the vin and check comments at BMW. If all checks out its probably a steal.

Probably feels more stiff and solid because he's had the control arms replaced.

So I was on the verge of doing an EFT for that car, it really looks like a good deal, while I was looking at the service booklet again, it had a service at Forsdicks in 2008 (134000km) and then the next entry is only in 2011 at SMG (180000km). It can't possibly be that the car was not serviced for almost 45 000km over 3 years?? The guy unfortunately did not know, so he will find out tomorrow and let me know if maybe it was serviced by someone who did not write it in the book. My mech will also check it out tomorrow, its a hassle to get him to have a look every time. I took another mech with today and he said everything looks fine, car is nice and dry underneath, no oil leaks are visible. So if those 2 things are addressed tomorrow I'll go take ownership of that tractor! :rollsmile:

They said they only had record of the car until 2007 when the motorplan ended. Can't I maybe ask SMG when it went for the service in 2011 what the state of the car was or something like that?

I doubt they will know, but maybe you can call them and see if it had any other work done to it at another time?

:rollsmile:My mechanic says the car looks good, that noise is most probably the viscous and waterpump pulley. And the huge gap between the services was just one service that hasnt been done at BMW which wasnt written in the booklet. Will do the deal later tonight and pick up the newest addition to the family!! :rollsmile:

Do you have confirmation from the workshop that the service was done in between that mileage? There should have been 2 oil changes in between preferably 3 @ every 10 000kms.

The car was serviced every +-20 000km, dont know who serviced the car in that interval.

Bmw recommends every 15 000kms for the diesels and 25 000kms for the petrols if I'm not mistaken.

If I were you I would do oil changes every 10 000kms at the ABSOLUTE MOST 15 000kms regardless of what the obc says.
