hi guys
i need all ur experties
xmas long weekend was going to DBN, enroute #5 stopped firing and got the coil pack replaced in Ladysmith, but since than on low revs when changing into 2 and 3 if im under 2.5K revs it has a miss and there a delay in power, after 3K that shes fine, if i drive hard and changes are over 3K revs there no "miss"... took it for a dianostics and the mech said its #5, but that coz the actulator valve gone and said there no need to replace that and unplugged it, however the miss is still there at low revs and consumption increased, i have replugged the valve, but what can i do to sort out the "miss".......

Swap the coils with another cylinder and see if the problem "follows" the coil ...

on #5 i had a rough idle and no power from 4.5K on wards and car top hand was about 120km
now there is no rough idle and i have top hand as well, its just when shifts at low revs when the car is cold in the am....

Just check the spark plugs and coils , one of them must be gone , happened to me earlier , got it sorted with a mechanic

this sounds like the exact problem i was having, smooth idle and as soon as i rev up its rough up until about 3k rpm. then on its smooth. only happens when the car is cold. i came to the conclusion its the MAF, which is only 3months old but is a pirate part.

this could be totally unrelated to your problem but worth a look.

When my Wife's 320i was misbehaving, the engine would shudder and jerk a bit at lower revs, as if you were in too tall a gear for the revs and too large a throttle opening. But this was in second and third gears while accelerating out of corners, so between 1 - 2k rpm, certainly not too low revs for these engines. Anyway, had diagnostics done and it was one of the coil packs that was faulty - moved it to another cylinder and the fault followed. Replaced and the car was back to normal. The performance was only affected at lower revs, and things like idling was fine.

Another potential problem could be Vanos seals, which is something I am going going to be replacing soon...

I have the same issue..

I have done my

Vanos
gearbox + torque converter
valve cover gasket
Major service

I am going to clean my ICV this weekend if I can find a Torx socket
set.

My car gives no codes.
