e46 320d Crankshaft Pulley

Will the timing of the engine be affected if the engine rotates while trying to remove the crankshaft pulley bolt.
I personally don't think it should because as far as I remember the m47n engine has a timing chain.

Just need to confirm. It already rotated a couple of centimetres.

If your only replacing the vibration damper pulley then it makes no difference as you are not working with the chain system and the pulley works with a keyway slot. If your doing other work then i cant comment without knowing what is being done.
