E46 320D 2000 pre-facelift catalytic convertors

Hi guys

Just want to know if i only remove the cat's on my car, how will this affect the performance or anything else? The car is a E46 320D 2000 pre-facelift, diesel.

The reason i asked is because I had my car booked in at a local bmw dealership in bryanston. booked it in for a slight cut of at high revvs. They said the injector was faulty, replaced that. then they said the turbo was broken, replaced that, then they said the cats was blocked, i had that removed and now the car is in worse condition than ever before and they are telling me that the cats are needed, which makes no sense. Just want to make sure i know my story.
regret taking my car there!
