Right so we fitted the short shift today, but unfortunately not all the bushings could be changed, but the play in the lever seems to be a bit less than it was before, and the throws are now nice and short, but I will let andrew report on the driving feel of the short shifter.

In my opinion the result was pretty awesome as short shifters give a very nice feel to changing gears, now I just need to do mine

The throw is much shorter.. & not as loose as it was before.. But as Sankekur said we still have some other bushes & fittings that we could not fit that I will need to get fitted.. Hopefully that will make the shifting experience less like fishing for a gear..

Spoke to mechanic today.. said the cause of looseness is usually the point where the shift connects to the gearbox..

So part number 12.. Said he can replace it when the car goes in next

So far the 328i shifter is great it has even improved my fuel consumption

You may ask how does a shifter have anything do do with fuel consumption..

the answer is, I now change gears sooner cause it feels so dam good.. instead of reving the crap out the car all the time
