E39 - rear wishbones

I recently had to replace the aluminium rear upper wishbones of my E39. My question is that seeing that only the balljoints were shot, is it not possible to buy/obtain new balljoints and press out the old ones and fit the new ones in the aluminium wishbone. The rubber bush on the other end is in very good condition. Anyone done this before?

I don't think it's posible to change the ball joints onley, they are cast into the arm.
