E39 parts

Will parts from other E39 models (say 540i) fit a 525 (E39 model).
Which parts will fit and enhance my cars performance

Umn, the engine and gearbox from a 540i should fit after you swap out the subframe and steering rack with all attached suspension parts. That should give you a nice little performance bump.

Oh come on, that is clearly not true! You could for instance swap the bonnet with one from a different color car and get a "racier" look. Same thing with the boot lid. Also, see my post above.

But the best gains are from aftermarket upgrades - the likes of a furry dice hanging from the rearview mirror, or even fur on the dash! Now we are talking BIG gains.

If you stick everything full of carbon fibre, the body is going to be so much lighter, which means that you are going to bring your power to weight ratio right down...

Good for a 20% increase at least....

The suspension and brake system are worthwile upgrades , you can get around corners quicker and brake later .
You can fit the 540i rear wing to your bootlid , drill a row of holes each side and move the wing forward after each test drive .As the wing is moved towards the rear window the downforce on the rear axle will reduce , at a certain point the low pressure/vacuum created will allow traction to be broken at 140 km/h . Very few citigolfs will spin their rear wheels at this speed .
