So I found myself impulsively buying this for my SO. And she and I both love it!

It goes without saying that Ant always acquires neat examples of rare cars and this one is no exception.

Very fortunately another resident uber fanatic gave the car a once over very recently and changed some important and common failing parts preventatively. Cooling system was looked at with a new expansion tank and fluid. Intake elbow changed to remove vacuum leaks. And some other items that escape my mind now. All from BMW.

So in the spirit if sticking to OEM I have already ordered a new oil filter and oil which I will attend to tomorrow just so I know the car is running on fresh synthetic oil.

What I did today is change the power steering fluid even though it looked ok

Removed the airbox and cleaned the maf and airbox

The car drives and feels very new for its age and does refelct its mileage of 100 612 kms.

On the to do list is new rear tyres.
Oil service
Gearbox and diff oil change (LS diff)

And possibly changing the exhaust manifold to E36m3 headers.

Congratulations Andy, the Z3 30i is a awesome little car :clapper:

I had a light green gold one, the first BMW I even bought, this was of course some time ago.

Lovely car, great motor! Always had a soft spot for the 3.0i Z3, congrats!

E36 M3 headers will need to be modified to fit the M54 as they have clearance issues with the wider engine block of the M54.

Add to your list a new fuel filter, no doubt its still the original in there.

LS diff centre portion won't be an issue to find or install as these use E30 rear suspension/diff parts.

Love your BBS 2 piece rims!

Yip it has the 3.15 LS already. Just meant to say im changing the oil with the FM booster oil from bmw. If there is an easy exh manifold swap diy then im keen to do it. Don't want to turn this beaut into a project. Its supposed to be he missus car and she'll cuss me if I start stripping it [FACE WITH TEARS OF JOY]

These are great cars! My dad had a blue 3.0i and it tought me... let me put it this way; the charms of RWD + LSD. Such a great sounding motor with the roof down, and a neat 3.0i with low mileage like this one is getting hard to find.

Congrats!

Awesome buy Andy... Identical to mine!

Have you got a strut bar in that one? That's the FIRST mod you need to do. Those cars tramline BADLY. The front and rear strut bar change the driving experience completely.

I suppose the e36 tarrtech braces should just bolt straight on? They made a vast difference to the handling of my e36.
