Hi Fanatics,

I own an e36 316i, The car has been running smoothly, I mean no issues whatsoever!

I get to work this morning and by lunch hour i get in my car put the key in the ignition, all is well, switch the key to on, all is still well, then try to start it then NOTHING happens!!!!

I try to check of any signs of battery outages, but none...

No sound when I start the car. NO Crank No Nada!!!!

Help Anyone?

Hi Nikhil,

My mechanic found the problem, it was my solenoid plug, it wasn't firmly plugged in.

Now it starts like brand-new!

Thank you for your input though! I appreciate it!:joy:

is your x5 auto or manual? check also for the solenoid plug, and at times the gearlever switch bugs around.(if faulty, the starter will not turn due to a safety switch forcing you to put the gearlever in P or N.)
