E36 Odometre problem

Hey everyone,

Need help please. My Odometre is giving me problems :cursin:, everything works except that the mileage isnt being displayed! But the service interval lights still do display.

What could the problem be? Can i fix this myself?

Was thinking it cant be a fuse, coz like i mentioned ONLY the mileage isnt displayed so maybe the bulb/light thingie is blown(?)

Nope it wont be a fuse.

If the speedo and rev counter and other gauges are fine, then its either.

The cluster itself
THe lights behind the LCD in the cluster.

The KM reading is stored amounst others in the cluster memory,

well im sure it is the lights behind the cluster - any way that this can be fixed?

Some googling revealed its a common issue.

There is a nice post with pdf instructions here, although you dont need to do an LCD repair.
