Hello gents, I know this might be a "NOOB" question to ask. But would like your input on what oil I must get, air filter and so forth for my cars big service.

As it is my first time taking my baby in for its service

Regards JP

The best fully synthetic oil you can afford. Don't bother with the oil that BMW agents use, for some use a synthetic blend instead of the BMW LL-01 approved oils. Trust me, you should feel the difference the synthetic oil makes if you are sensitive to you car's performance.

Here's a list of BMW LL-01 approved oils:

For oil my vote is for shell helix ultra, very good bang for buck.

As far as the filters goes you can just get them from the dealers, they are not that expensive.

well, My cousin will be doing the service, so should of thought "he would know", before asking the question. Sankekur, he said the same as you said, so glad im on par. :)

but will only be doing the service, after I get my baby back. It has gone in for minor rust removal and a respray, then servicing it, then tyres, then allignment and Ill be the happiest "broke" student alive haha
