BruceT on the forum has a haltech in his 328i budget race car build iirc, he most certainly wouldn't have spent 40 on a ecu alone.

Gizmo is correct there is no way I would spend R40k on management for my little budget build. I am however using Powermods on my race car which has full vanos control. (excuse my non technical terms) I have no idea if it would work for your application but I cant see why not considering the cars I know who run Powermods.

I also agree that if I had a turbo M3 I would ensure a decent management system is used. Ive been looking for a M3 motor and cannot find them and when I do they are damn expensive - I would hate to think how expensive a turbo'd one, with all the correct groceries, would cost to replace.

Thanks for the input, what i failed to tell the guys is that i started this thread way after i started with this car, Just tried making a good thread of it by going step by step.
The Vanos has been locked and we are using Dicktator on the car.
Yes ive heard good things about powermods but when we decided on the dicktator route Powermods wasnt out or maybe could have been released but not really recognised or tested.
So ill cut to the chase and give the updated of the story, well a bit of it.
Car on first dyno.... 0.8bar

Made good power, on 0.8 / 0.9 bar, only as you can see on the graph, with the vanos locked the power curve starts a bit later but the customer is happy with it for now.
