I have deleted my previous post, sorry to those who took offence to it, there was no harmful intent from my side.
Anyway. I took the car back to Cobus yesterday morning due to poor idling and battling to start. He changed out the crank sensor again saying it's the cause of the gunshot sounding backfires. He did some adjustments to the cold start fuelling and brought the idle up to 850rpm. Got the car back yesterday afternoon and it's running better but not as good as I would like, Cobus says it will be a never ending game trying to make the power mods run like a bosch so I must learn to live with it...

Gizmo when will you ever learn that we have a bunch of crybabies over here with no sense of humor. As usual dvst8 is the lead singer[cryer] and instigator.

They will never grow up:smashScreen:

Gizmo, not putting Cobus down but i disagree with his argument, i used dicktator on the M3 im busy with and it starts and runs like a dream, no vanos as well. I seriously doubt its the PowerMods. Car is gonna be delivered to the customer today and i will be posting pics soon..... Why dont u try another tuner? I use Dino @ Autospot, so far every car we have built , turbo or N/A, we have had no problems or start up issues or running issues... Just a suggestion
One of my customers did take his IS turbo to Cobus for a dyno tune because Dino was fully booked and he was in a hurry.... a day later after dyno oil was pissing out of the breather under boost and i dont have to tell u what that means....

Just my 2c, dont need any change:=):

If you never have anything good to say or positive to say on the forum, why exactly are you here?

Sounds like a cop out to me. Guy is either no good or doesn't want to spend the time to get it right. I'd look at another tuner.

:withStu:

Hopefully this tread will remain on track now  Think Gizmo done enough apologizing and feel that issues relating to anything else, Cry babies & Bob Martins included, can be discussed elsewhere???

Right...back to the M3 Turbo:coolShake:

Hmm, oil pushing out of the catch can on this one too under boost...:thumbdo:

I will clean up the oily mess again and take it for a drive out of boost, see if we get another oily mess or not. Low compression is possibly due to blow-by past the rings, maybe I should do a compression test.

When testing the IS after the oil push out, the compression test showed normal and equal on all cylinders, only once we stripped the motor we found Piston no.5 Ring land was broken..... result of detonation

Warren if you getting so much oil as to cause a mess it does not sound like the motor is healthy.
What do the plugs look like?
Can you post pics of them?

I ran the idea past boetie. He has kindly offered me his leak - down tester to find out the condition of the rings. I will take up his offer and report back my findings. It's a little disheartening that all my work was on a possible fubar motor...I'm feeling somewhat bummed right now...

Plugs were changed out by Cobus. He said the old ones were screwed. He also said I must start the car and drive and not let it sit idling as it will foul/destroy the plugs...
