E36 M3 Fuel Smell

Can the clutch play an issue in the loss of power?

Reason being is last night i approached a robot and next to me was a golf 6 gti that i raced before. So i figure it would be the perfect opportunity to see if the car is under performing and by how much

So with the engine not fully warmed up, i launch and when i change into 2nd the rev's don't drop but continue until it limits. I change into 3 and the same story

I stop at the next robot and try again but the same story but by know i can smell the clutch. There was very low pressure in the clutch. I left it to cool off for about 45min and then took a very slow drive home. The pressure has increased though.

I started the car this morning and it seems fine. There was a clutch smell when i opened the bonnet, Not sure if its still from last night

Could this mean my clutch or the booster is gone and could driving the car when its not hot be the cause?

Sounds like you have clutch slip which is not related to the cars hydraulics.

Clutch slip is an indication of a worn disc and will require a clutch kit roughly R3500 plus the cost of a flywheel iif you wish it done correctly.

Your issues are not in the clutch although clutch slip is in itself an issue now.

My current setup is E46 325i clutch and Flywheel. I do have a M3 Sachs clutch and pressure plate so i will need to source a flywheel.
Is it a straight swop or will i need to anything else? It is the M 5 speed box.

Will any M3 flywheel (Lightened, Stage 1, 2 etc) work or will this have to be paired with the clutch?
