Hey Guys, I have been very quiet on here this year, for some reason work has been taking priority :flyfun:

So this year my collection has been growing. The E60 M5 is an amazing car.. unbelievable power delivery and luxury, and I love taking long journeys in her.

But this week I bought two old school E36's and Im in love all over again with Simplicity...

I needed a pool car for the office, didnt want to spend mega bucks, eventually I found a 1999 318is with 320k on the clock 2 Owners from new and FSH.. For R20k!!!!! what a car for the money, I did about 500km in her this week, awesome consumption and she isnt slow. Inside is pretty spotless. a few minor cosmetic issues, but wow what value.

My Hunt this week for an E36 M3 finally came to an end by finding one of the early "lightweight" M3's in Joburg. Car has 185k on the clock. Owner is a complete legend and that is what made me buy the car "blind", you can tell it hasnt been abused and has hardly been used in the 13 years he has owned her. She needs a bit of restoring, and I have set aside R40k to make her all shining and pretty. She will be comeing down from JHB on a truck later this week.

Very Very excited for my E36 Adventure(s)

I will document the Journey and no doubt need your help along the way :)

Before you all tell me how to Mod the cars, they will both remain 100 percent stock like BMW intended :)

The Owner threw this in :)

Thanks man, I must confess it feels like the bargaining the century, I mean what the he'll else can you buy for R20k? The clutch has just been done and she has 4 brand new dunlops on. That's R10k right there :)

Nice Ant, congrats bud. Liking the originality of M3. Always nice to find one that hasn't been tinkered with to be honest.

I haven't forgotten I owe you pics!

I must be very ignorant to this but I truly did not know the M3 came out with that style interior.. To be honest, it looks the business  I like it, nice selection of E36s :=):

Apparently the first 50 that came to SA were lightweight and had these seats...,

I see the savings in weight are, no sunroof, and no rear headrests... Wonder what else?

Splint, it would be interesting to see the weight of this car. If you have the opportunity, have it weighed at a weigh bridge... :=):

Apparently the front seats weigh 20kg lighter too.

Either way all the weight saving disappears when I get in... off to the gym to make me a lightweight model :D:D
